Let’s All Take a Moment of Silence…

(Source: Facebook.)

Tomorrow is the big day. My audition with the industry professional. Before that, I have to work. Tomorrow will be my first official serving shift at this job. There are issues however.

We have a new POS system that I’m not familiar with.

Friday lunches are usually very busy.

Plus my nerves will be racked the entire time thinking about my audition.

Pray for me that I survive the day.

Celebrities Are Not Babysitters

(Source: Facebook.)

There’s been several people complaining on Twitter about appetite suppressants being sold by Kim Kardashian. Their anger is that she is promoting it to impressionable youth. How dare her?!

Let me be clear…I don’t like Kim Kardashian or her family. I think they get way too much press and to quote something I tweeted earlier: she enjoys wearing the cloak of a sex worker without any of the backlash. With that being said, I think people are making this a bigger thing than it is.

I sell diet products and I have used appetite suppressants recently. But if I were to tell you that, in my youth, a celebrity compelled me to be skinny, I would tell you no.

For me it started at home. Not to air out my dirty laundry, but my mom complained about being fat (she never was) all of the time. That mindset trickled down to me, which is where most of my issues regarding weight come from. So if kids are desperate to use this product, the people who raised them is where I would look to first. Besides, if she really is in charge leading youth to follow in her image, then their parents really are failing to guide them properly.

Stepping off my soapbox now.

Back To Work!

(Taken today on Instagram.)

I’ve been unemployed for only 24 hours and so many things opened up to me in that time. Today, I resume teaching pole class. I’m excited due to getting back to something I love and getting physical again (I gained so much weight 😔.) Some job opportunities have popped up as well. I could possibly be working at a hotel, restaurant, or a film festival. I’ll keep you posted on everything that happens.

The College Student Diet

(Photo taken in my kitchen.)

I had to put my attempt at the Keto diet on the back burner due to my limited budget. I’m in between bookings without much money coming in so I had to make do with what was already in my pantry as well as purchasing some extra items.

No, it’s not the healthiest and no, I won’t lose weight (I gave up trying.) It’s basically sustenance until I’m in a better financial standing.

A few things you don’t see in the picture that I want to share with you:

•I have frozen vegetables, that I threw in with that bowl of ramen along with garlic and ginger to taste. It was super tasty.

•I have a bag of apples and oranges that are fresh and cheap. I eat them all of the time.

•We keep water stocked in the fridge at all times and the Hawaiian Punch is low calorie and my alternative to soda. I also drink powdered greens that I sell, along with an abundance of tea (decaf Earl Grey and Herbal.)

•I have both real milk and almond milk in the fridge and chia seeds to make pudding with.

At least I’m trying to do better right?

Halloween

(Source: Pinterest.)

It’s that time again…Halloween. Let’s face it, the entire year of 2017 has been Halloween without the fun, but all of the scares. Do I have any big plans? No. I didn’t go to any parties this year, I don’t have children to take trick or treating; hell, my apartment isn’t even set up for trick or treaters to collect candy from.

Ho hum.

My Thanksgiving and Christmas may be going the same in the same direction. Exciting stuff.

Going Keto

(Source: Facebook.)

The company I’m enrolled as a distributor with, just launched a whole Ketogenic friendly coffee drink.

Friends unrelated to this company, and have no interest in this company; started talking about going Keto.

Two days ago, a K-Beauty blog I follow, talked about the benefits of going Keto for beautiful skin.

As one of my theatre friends once said: “When the Clue x 4 hits you over the head, you must listen.”

So now I have decided to go Keto.

(Source: Tom Davies and Witchcraft Down & Dirty Facebook page. This is the way I will be drinking tea from now on.)

I’m an Ovo-Lacto Vegetarian. Unlike my vegan counterparts, I will eat animal products, just not the animal itself. Surely a vegan will flame me for eating dairy, however the big issue with my health (mentally and physically) is the over abundance of carbs and sugar (and not the caffeine and dairy as I originally thought.) Diabetes is also hereditary in my family, which means I have to keep my eye on it at all times.

There is also a lovely selection of the fruits and veggies I already eat that are included in the Keto diet (thank goodness.) The downside is having to let go of some of the things I love like bread (unless it’s low carb), pasta (I eat zoodles now), candy, alcohol (not really missing much here), sodas/fruit juices, potatoes, and other super starchy/high sugar fruits and veggies. Cheese, on the other hand, stays in the game.

(Source: Facebook. Dairy should still be consumed in moderation, but I will never let it go. I also have no intentions of getting married which should alleviate this problem.)

My first day on the diet was yesterday and I also included a cup of coffee with heavy cream and no sugar. I didn’t have a panic attack, and I had energy all day. As soon as I get my food right, my fitness will be next. I’m healing my body one step at a time.

Breaking Point

(Source: Pinterest, Creator Unknown)

Aw man, I’m seriously gaining weight fast! It’s been so tough though. All of the stress and chaos I’m experiencing has been causing me to eat my feelings. I’m going on an emergency diet and cleanse starting tomorrow. I hope to reset myself before these upcoming shoots.

Caffeine and Anxiety

(Source: Facebook, but no knowledge of which comic this came from.)

So, it has come time for me to quit on caffeine. I’m going to do this in small parts, because I have attempted to quit before and got really sick doing it. The main reason is that it heightens my anxiety and causes me to have panic attacks. I’m moving to drink greens instead for my energy source, since they are loaded with vitamins and nutrients. And of course drinking more water (which I’m terrible at staying consistent.) This will be a good detox for me.
